Typically, we conduct examinations after completing the research phase. However, if you prefer an earlier assessment, we’re more than happy to accommodate that.

Given the high value of Degas paintings, it is safer for both liability and insurance reasons to keep the artwork in your possession rather than shipping it to us.

We can assess the artwork through:

  • High-resolution photographs
  • Live video feeds like (Zoom)
  • On-site evaluations at any art storage facility worldwide
  • In-person visits to your residence, office, bank, or hotel while traveling

We carry out all necessary tests for authentication, which may include materials analysis, dating, special photography, and forensic studies. The specific tests required will vary based on the case.

Authentication typically takes a few days for prints. For paintings, it can range from a couple of weeks for simpler cases to several months for more complex ones.

We do not charge for issuing a COA. If the artwork is deemed authentic, we provide the certificate automatically.

We offer many services—such as answering questions, providing advice, and giving value estimates—at no charge. For additional services, fees start at $300.

No, we cannot accept payment after authentication, as this could create a conflict of interest. We strive to remain impartial in our evaluations.

Examination - We offer artwork evaluations at a range of convenient locations, including your home, office, attorney's office, bank, art storage facilities, or even hotels while you're traveling. Our services are also available at art galleries, auction houses, government offices, customs ports, law enforcement agencies, and various organizations or associations. Additionally, we can conduct assessments in libraries, colleges, museums, and conservation studios or laboratories. Please note that, for insurance and liability reasons, we do not conduct evaluations at our own facilities.
